Caring for a pregnant doe
Give a pregnant doe a calm environment, fresh water and good-quality hay and feed, increasing food gradually as the pregnancy progresses. Avoid handling her roughly, and keep her away from stressors and extreme heat. A quiet, clean hutch helps her settle and build a good nest.
Nest box and kindling
Place the nest box around day 28 and check it daily without disturbing the doe too much. After kindling, quietly confirm the kits are warm and fed; does typically nurse only once or twice a day, so you may rarely see it happen. Remove any stillborn kits and keep the nest clean and dry.
