How the GPA calculator works
For each course, pick the letter grade and enter the credit hours. The calculator converts every grade to its point value on the 4.0 scale, multiplies by credits to get quality points, and divides the sum of quality points by the sum of credits. The result is your credit-weighted GPA.
Raising your GPA
Because GPA is credit-weighted, the fastest way to move it is to earn strong grades in high-credit courses. Retaking a class or taking on additional credits with high grades pulls the average up, while a low grade in a heavy course pulls it down more than a light one.
