How the AP Psychology composite works
The 75 multiple choice questions are converted to a percentage and weighted at 66.7%, while the AAQ and EBQ are combined out of 14 points and weighted at 33.3%. Adding the two weighted parts gives a composite percentage, which this calculator maps to a predicted 1-5 score using common estimated thresholds for the redesigned exam.
Using the estimate wisely
Because 2025 was the first year of the new format, historical curves are limited and the College Board re-sets cutoffs each year. Multiple choice still drives two-thirds of the score, so steady accuracy there matters most, with the AAQ and EBQ providing the remaining third.
